Over the course of two days in February 2017, we organized four concerts with Utena Kobayashi, Jenny Hval, Oorutaichi and Frode Haltli, two documentary film showings by Hungarian-Norwegian filmmaker Istvan Kovacs and a concurrent exposition of photos and original objects related to the music of Arne Nordheim and his work at the 1970 world fair in Osaka, trailing the rise of modernism in Norway right up to the current experimental music scene in Japan.
The event was produced in collaboration with Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, and supported by VACANT, Fuglen Tokyo and NRK.
